Elias T. Ayuk is the Director of Policy Advisory Services at CHAINT Afrique ACADEMY. He has published widely on the social, economic and policy dimensions of natural resources management, on poverty analysis and on institutional capacity building.
Elias T. Ayuk is the Director of Policy Advisory Services at CHAINT Afrique ACADEMY in Accra, Ghana. He was Strategic Advisor at the Sustainable Development Goals Centre for Africa (SDGCA), Kigali, Rwanda in 2019 and 2020. From October 2010 to October 2018, he held the position of Director of the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) based in Accra, Ghana. Elias T. Ayuk’s research interests focus on the social, economic and policy dimensions of natural resource management, on poverty analysis, and on institutional capacity building. He is in the Editorial Board of Nutrient Cycling in Agroecosystems and is an Associate Editor of Frontiers in Environmental Science.
Elias’ interest in the IRP is in ‘inclusive governance of natural resources in Africa for improved livelihoods’. He was the peer review coordinator of IRP’s Food Systems and Natural Resources Report, co-lead of IRP’s Report on Mineral Resource Governance for the 21st Century, and co-lead of the Think Piece on Urban Agriculture’s Potential to Advance Multiple Sustainability Goals. He is currently a contributor to IRP’s Report on Financing Mineral Resources Governance.
He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Hamline University of Minnesota in St. Paul, Minnesota. He obtained an MSc and a PhD in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, USA.
