IRP Co-Organized Session with United Nations Development Programme and Brazilian National Confederation of Industry:

Description: This session explored how circular economy approaches could ensure. that the increasing demand for critical energy transition minerals contributes to sustainable development. Discussions focused on technology, financing, and policies that respect the rights of Indigenous Peoples and local communities affected by mining activities. Best practices and country examples were highlighted to showcase responsible investments in the mineral lifecycle.
IRP Representation: Professor Paul Ekins, IRP Panel Member and Professor of Resources and Environmental Policy at University College London (UCL), was a panelist in this session.
