Izabella Teixeira, Co-chair of the International Resource Panel (IRP), will participate in two sessions at the CBD Business & Biodiversity Forum @ COP17 on 25 October 2026. During the Forum, she will also present the IRP's new paper, Taking action for nature: the role of business and the circular economy, highlighting how circular economy approaches can help businesses reduce pressures on biodiversity and support the transition to more sustainable production and consumption systems.
Izabella will join the Opening panel: The state of business action for biodiversity, which will explore the role of the private sector in advancing global biodiversity goals and accelerating implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
She will also participate in the Panel discussion: Transforming systems: scaling change across sectors, markets, and value chains, which will examine how businesses and industries can drive the systemic transformations needed to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. The discussion will focus on practical pathways for scaling impact through innovation, value-chain collaboration, market incentives, policy frameworks, and cross-sector partnerships.
Drawing on the findings of Taking action for nature: the role of business and the circular economy, Izabella will highlight the changes needed across business operations and value chains to reduce biodiversity impacts, improve resource efficiency, and contribute to nature-positive outcomes at scale.
