The International Resource Panel (IRP) held its 33rd Meeting from 12, 14 to 16 May 2025 in the vibrant city of São Paulo, Brazil, and back-to-back to the World Circular Economy Forum. This landmark meeting brought together IRP Panel Members, Steering Committee representatives, and strategic partners from across the globe for a pivotal week of discussion and collaboration.
This year’s meeting was particularly significant, as participants engaged in shaping and co-developing the IRP's Programme of Work for 2026–2029 through a series of Strategic planning sessions. In addition, exchanges on cross-cutting themes such as circular economy, critical minerals, equity, and global policy alignment took place.
Scientists, government representatives from the Steering Committee, and strategic partners convened to share knowledge, assess progress, and forge new pathways for international cooperation.
As the world faces intensifying environmental, economic, and social challenges, the IRP remains committed to providing cutting-edge, science-based guidance on the sustainable use of natural resources. The discussions in São Paulo marked a key step toward defining priorities that will inform global resource governance for years to come.
