The 5th United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEA-5) adopted Resolution 5/12 on the environmental aspects of minerals and metals management and requested the convening of intergovernmental regional consultations, followed by a global intergovernmental meeting. At the Global Intergovernmental Meeting on Minerals and Metals on 7-8 September 2023, IRP research on mineral resource governance contributed to the discussions by participating delegates.
