Elias Ayuk is the Director of the UN University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa. He has published widely on the social, economic and policy dimensions of natural resource management, on poverty analysis and institutional capacity building.

Elias T. Ayuk is the Director of the United Nations University Institute for Natural Resources in Africa (UNU-INRA) based in Accra, Ghana. Prior to joining UNU-INRA in October 2010, he was a Senior Programme Specialist with the Canadian International Development Research Centre (IDRC) at its West and Central Africa Regional Office in Dakar, Senegal. He has an undergraduate degree in Economics from the Hamline University of Minnesota in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA. He obtained an MSc and a PhD both in Agricultural Economics from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, USA. Elias Ayuk’s research interests focus on the social, economic and policy dimensions of natural resource management, on poverty analysis and on institutional capacity building. He has published extensively and is in the editorial boards of the journals Nutrient Cycling in Agro ecosystems, and Sustainability Science.
